Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax Review

Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax review We review Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax to see if it stands up to its claims and provide the gloss and protection your car deserves!

  • Protects paintwork
  • Beads water very well
  • Doesn’t leave white residue on trim
  • Fastest way to wax your wax

What’s In The Box?

You get a premium black microfibre towel, a branded Meguiars foam applicator pad and a 16oz bottle of the Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax.

It is presented in a very high quality display box which looks great on the shelves but also stores all of the products neatly.

To ensure you get the best from Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax, your paint must be new or properly prepared.

If your paint isn’t new make sure you wash your car thoroughly, followed by using a clay bar to remove impurities and remove any defects using a quality car polish.

Once this is complete you can use a soft polishing pad on a dual action polisher or the supplied foam applicator to apply the wax, however we found that hand application was a better method due to this type of product.

A few drops should be massaged into your preferred applicator until every wet with ULW and applied to one panel at a time in overlapping lines.

To obtain the best results the remaining film should then be left for around 10-15 minutes or until its dry.

This can then be removed using the supplied microfibre towel and buffed to a high gloss finish with minimal effort.

Synthetic waxes usually provide clarity and sharpness compared to the traditional warmth that a natural wax provides and whilst Meguiars ULW does provide the clarity you would expect from a sealant, it also provides a great wet look and thick glossy coating that would usually expect from a natural wax.

Water behaviour is one of the strongest benefits of this synthetic wax and you can expect tight and very uniform water droplets forming on your paint when it rains or when you are rinsing the car prior to washing it.

We would of liked to have seen more dirt repellency from this product as it didn’t seem to stay cleaner than the untreated panels either side of it but the hydrophobic properties are very prominent.

The hydrophobic benefits were seen for several weeks and were on par with Autoglym HD wax.

It is very similar in performance and application to Meguiars Synthetic Sealant 21 but this new and improved, retail-friendly version offers superior performance and simpler removal.

Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax is a high performance synthetic paint sealant which adds noticeable gloss and depth to all colour cars, especially red and black.

There are cheaper alternatives but it is competitively priced and the inclusion of the quality foam applicator and microfibre towel make this better value than most.

You will be rewarded for your application with a great shine, tight water beading and an easier to clean finish which will last several weeks.

Couple this with the quantity you receive and the small amount required per coat and both your car and wallet will thank you.
